What’s On in July

Now the lockdown is slowly lifting there are more events in Bedfords Castle Quarter. As we have to be careful we are still including online events from outside the area.

1 Hour Online Class: Beginner Lindy Hop – Solo Edition
Friday 31 July 2020 from 12:00

Lindy Hop Basics with Michaela – working solo

This class is for complete beginners to swing dancing, or for anyone wanting to brush up on their basics – and is aimed at those without a partner or isolating on their own. We will work on essential footwork, movements, and we will work on both leading and following skills that you can practice on your own. We’ll also try out some ‘solo lindy hop’ games!

When you purchase the class, we’ll send you an email with a link to the unlisted video on youtube. Please don’t share this link with others as the income from the classes is helping us and the teachers keep going while we’re in lockdown. If you have a question for Michaela about the class, either comment on the video or you can email info@swingpatrol.co.uk and we’ll pass along your enquriy.

FNB: lockdown sessions – Gen & The Degenerates / Cameron Godfrey
Friday 31 July 2020 from 19:00

Hosted by Blender

Hosted by Blender

Gen and the Degenerates have been gate-crashing the Northwest music scene for just over a year and we are delighted to introduce them to Bedford. Lead singer Gen will join us for an acoustic session that will no doubt give us a flavour of their unique breed of blood and thunder rock’n’roll.

“Gen and The Degenerates are without a doubt one of the most formidable up and coming live acts around”
– Popped Music

And we are delighted to have Cameron Godfrey back on the session. Tragic‘s front man will be back after appearing on our very first online Friday Night Blender – all the way back in April as the reality of lockdown was yet to be understood.

And while we are still trying to understand much of it, we are lucky to have a seasoned journalist on the couch this week to help us with that. David Jackson is a Midlands based photographer, videographer and journalist with more than 15 years of experience working in regional press and has recently started covering Bedford’s music scene more extensively.
