The Panacea Museum The Panacea MuseumThe museum tells the story of The Panacea Society (now The Panacea Trust) a religious community that was formed in about 1904 by Mabel Barltrop later to be known as “Octavia”. You can see how they lived find out about their religious beliefs, visit the buildings and gardens. At the centre of all this you can also learn about Joanna Southcott and her sealed box of prophecies and why the members of the society campaigned tirelessly for it to be opened.
